PayorTransparency

Is the rate shown what I will be paid?

No. The figures are a market benchmark built from payer files, not a promise of payment. They are state level, with no county or ZIP figures.

Read rates as a benchmark

Step by step

Before you start. A rate in the app is a benchmark built from what payers list in their published files. It is not a promise of what a claim will pay.

  1. Each row on Rate Watch is one payer's median rate for a code in one place, set against Medicare. It summarizes many listings for many providers.
  2. Payer files list rates for many in-network providers who may never supply the item, often called ghost rates. Read the figures as a price benchmark, not a list of who supplies.
  3. Places are states, plus a National view. A state comes from where the listed providers are registered, not where patients live. There are no metro, county or ZIP figures.
  4. Rates are a snapshot of each file as it was captured. A payer can republish a month.
  5. Each AI answer carries the line AI-generated · not reimbursement advice. Governing coverage determinations control.

What you see. On any page outside Chat, the Disclaimers link in the footer opens the full statement on payortransparency.com.

Tip. Under Profile & preferences, the Data caveats tab lists the Standing data limits. Its Full ghost-rate framing switch sets how fully answers spell out the ghost-rate caveat, and never removes it.
