Who can see my chats and briefs?

Chats and saved answers are private to you until you switch them to Shared with team. Generated briefs start shared, and a share link opens one answer for 30 days.

See who can see your chats and briefs

Step by step

Before you start. Only the person who made a chat or brief can change who sees it, with the Private and Shared with team switch.

  1. A new chat starts as Private, which only you can see. Click Shared with team at the top of the conversation to let everyone in your workspace view it.
  2. Teammates find a shared chat under TEAM CHATS in their Conversations list. It opens read-only for them, so only you can ask, rename or save it.
  3. An answer you keep with Save insight becomes a Private brief. On the brief, click Shared with team so your team can view and comment on it.
  4. A brief made with Generate brief starts as Shared with team, so your whole team sees it.
  5. Share, under an answer or on a brief, makes a read-only link to that one version. Anyone with the link can read it without an account, for 30 days or until you revoke it. Sharing an answer from Chat saves it as a brief first.
  6. To stop a link early, open the brief in Insights Library and click Revoke beside the link under SHARE LINKS.

What you see. Clicking Private again hides a chat or brief from your team. It does not stop a share link, so revoke that too.

Tip. If a chat drew on your saved research, teammates see its answers but not which of your saved items they came from.
